Security Threat Predictions for 2011

Not unlike last year, social media is on the list of top security threats for 2011.  Cloud computing, mobile devices and security breaches caused by insiders (employees) also make the 2011 list.  One of the more interesting predictions suggest a growing threat is not so much database security but file security, as managing usage and access to the unstructured data in file servers is difficult to do.  Also, at least one prediction offers an important consideration regarding those tiny URLs or URL shorteners.  Although convenient and popular for Twitter, those URLs can be a method for masking malware since the source URL is obscured by the briefer address link.  Another prediction suggests our privacy laws and regulations may continue to expand.  For more security news, review the links below to check out what we have discussed regarding security threats over the past year.
